Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) welcomes back The Texas Tenors with a brand new program on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held in the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater.
This classical crossover trio was formed in 2009 with members JC Fisher, Marcus Collins and John Hagen. Since their debut seven years ago on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” The Texas Tenors have accumulated a long list of awards, accolades and fans.
Audiences are treated to a unique harmony of country, classical, Broadway and contemporary music. They have performed more than 800 concerts around the world, including the United Kingdom and China. They have also performed on NBC’s “The Today Show,” Hallmark’s “Home and Family,” at various NBA games, the PBR World Championships and a variety of charity events.
The Texas Tenors’ performance is only one of many in the diverse lineup of productions held at the VPAC Theater this season. Tuesday, Oct. 4, the Tony-Award winning Broadway production of “Once: The Musical” will take the stage, followed by legendary performers THE HIT MEN: Legendary Performers with Frankie Vallie, Carole King, Cat Stevens and more Friday, Oct. 21. Oklahoma City Community College opened the doors to the 1,049-seat Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater in early 2014. It features a large atrium with three-story high windows, state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment and will allow the college to host larger Broadway-style touring productions. The Visual and Performing Arts Center also houses an art gallery and academic center featuring a rehearsal room, library, six classrooms, seven studios, seven labs and faculty offices.
