      OCCC's SCMS program wins third national award

      The Students Connecting with Mentors for Success (SCMS) program at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) continues to thrive. SCMS recently won the Association of Community College Trustees' (ACCT) Charles Kennedy Equity Award for the western region. This is the third national award for the program, recognizing the efforts to close the gap underserved student populations experience in higher education.

As the first and only college to offer the program in the state, OCCC and the Honda PACT Program will give Oklahoma City automotive technicians an advantage in the industry.

      OCCC celebrates veterans at annual Veterans Day Ceremony

      Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) celebrates those who have bravely served our country at the upcoming 2017 Veterans Day Ceremony Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the college's Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater. The college is honored to announce keynote speaker Major Mark Reisweber, West Point graduate and Army aviator, and Guest of Honor Lt. Colonel William Patrick Bonelli, Pearl Harbor survivor and World War II pilot.

      Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) and Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) have again partnered with National Theatre Live! (NTL) to present pre-recorded theater productions to audiences in the college's Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) Theater.

      OCCC Student Life hosts DACA discussion in Excel Series

      Oklahoma City Community College's (OCCC) Office of Student Life presented its second Excel Series program of the fall semester Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. The featured topic was "DACA program: What Now?" The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) executive order signed into law by President Obama in 2012 has undergone scrutiny under the new Trump administration. The law allows for children of undocumented residents who meet certain criteria to remain in the U.S. legally. Expiration of DACA program protections subjects these individuals to the possibility of deportation to a country they, in reality, may never have known.
