Welcome to OCCC's Math Lab

The Math Lab is located in the Science, Engineering and Math Center (2G4/5) just inside SEM Entry 2 from parking Lot A and SEM Entry 4 from parking Lots F and G. It provides free services intended to supplement mathematics learning for college students.

Services available in the Math Lab:

Calculator leasing for students enrolled in classes that require a TI-84 or TI-89

Tutoring on a question by question basis

Textbooks, solution manuals, and calculators for check-out to use in the lab

Calculator Leasing

Students enrolled in courses that require graphing calculators may lease a graphing calculator for a $25 fee per semester. This fee can be paid at the Bursar Office (cash or check only) or online through the Student Portal Self-Service (credit card or electronic check). To lease a calculator, please bring these items to the Math Lab:

  • OCCC Student ID
  • Enrollment in a course that requires a graphing calculator (copy of your schedule)
  • Payment of $25 lease fee (copy of the receipt)

Graphing calculators will only be leased to students enrolled in the following courses that require a graphing calculator:

MATH 1533 Pre-Cal/Analytic Geometry – TI 84

MATH 1613 Trigonometry – TI 84

Calculators

A variety of calculators is available for use in the Math Lab.

Text Books/Manuals

A variety of textbooks, student solutions manuals, and calculator/software instruction manuals can be found in the Math Lab.

Tutors

Free tutoring is offered to OCCC math students in the Math Lab, and no appointments are necessary. Math questions may also be answered by phone.

Computers and Internet Access

The Mathematics Computer Lab is located in the Math Lab. There are over 100 computers for student use. Students can work on their MyMathLab and ConnectMath homework. Computers in the Math Lab have complete access to the Internet. From here you can access unlimited resources including faculty web pages.
