Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) will host an in-person information session for prospective students at Scissortail Park on July 28. The event will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. at the southeast pavilion, a shaded part of the park where social distancing standards will be applied. Representatives from OCCC’s Admissions and Recruitment staff, and faculty from Health Professions, Nursing, Business and Information Technology, Automotive, Computer Science and Computer Aided Tech Programs will be in attendance to answer questions, help with decisions and begin application or enrollment processes. A representative from Rose State College will also be in attendance if students wish to speak about that college’s programs, too.
“The uncertainty and confusion about our economy and our health is hard to ignore,†said Michael Hoggatt, Director of Recruitment and Admissions at OCCC. “But especially amid that uncertainty, when students might be tempted to ‘wait it out’ and see what happens, it’s even more important to encourage them to take the first – or maybe next – step toward the future they want, right now.â€
Oklahoma City Community College begins its fall schedule on August 17. Classes will be offered in-person, online and in a hybrid format, helping students begin or complete their education however they feel comfortable.
“We believe college should be affordable, accessible and on your schedule,†said Erick Worrell, Executive Director of Marketing & PR for OCCC. “Our mantra this fall is simple: Do college on your terms. That’s what we’re offering students, and we believe it is already proving a responsible, flexible and successful approach for everyone.â€
