Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) student Cullen Smith has been selected as a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholar. The distinction is presented each year by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation to 200 Phi Theta Kappa students across the nation. The distinction puts Smith in elite company across college campuses in the United States, and comes with a cash scholarship.
“We are so proud of Cullen and his tremendous achievement,†said OCCC President Jerry Steward. “Oklahoma City Community College invests heavily in student success and community enrichment, and we are privileged to have Cullen Smith on our campus.â€
Cullen Smith is a graduate of Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City. A music major at OCCC, Smith plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma after graduation to pursue a degree in Music Education.
“I’m so excited to receive this award,†said Cullen Smith. “It just shows how much you can do if you never give up.â€
Oklahoma City Community College enrolls over 17,000 students annually. Thousands more are served in non-credit classes and programs. The college has more than 60 fields of study and offers associate degrees, certifications and leadership opportunities.
