Recently, Firestone Complete Auto Care representatives Ernest Turner and Mike Sampson presented a $5,000 donation to Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) to support the college’s Automotive Technology Internship Program (ATIP) degree that prepares students to work in the automotive industry with all makes and models.

In addition to the donation of funds, Firestone sends current employees to OCCC for professional development opportunities and hires OCCC students who are working their way through the automotive degree program.

“Our partnership with Firestone is a great asset for our students,†says OCCC President Jerry Steward. “Not only is Firestone supporting workforce development and education, they are giving our students the resources they need to succeed in their careers.â€

OCCC has several automotive technology programs, all of which are designed to provide students with the necessary skills to obtain a sustainable job in the industry. OCCC also collaborates with local dealerships and has make-specific programs for General Motors, Honda & Acura and Subaru.
