Student Employment
On-Campus Employment
All F-1 students are allowed to work on the OCCC campus for up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Students may work more than 20 hours per week during school breaks.

Off-Campus Employment
All international students in F-1 status must have authorization to work off campus. The approval will be issued by your Designated School Official (DSO) and USCIS.
Optional Practical Training (OPT)
- Post completion OPT authorizes you for a year of off campus employment after you graduate from OCCC.

Economic Hardship
- If you are experiencing economic hardship, you can apply to USCIS work authorization.
Special Student Relief
- The U.S. federal government has designated some countries for Special Student Relief (SSR). SSR suspends some rules regarding F-1 student enrollment and employment.
