The purpose of the Personnel Action Form (PAF) is to communicate changes to the Human Resources department. A Personnel Action Form is required anytime there is a change to Personnel or direct reports. Terminations, New Hires, Continuation of Grant Funds, Funding Source changes, Continuation of Student Employment, or Reassignment of position all require a PAF. Supervisor changes can be communicated via email to HRRep@occc.edu.
A PAF or PAF Request should be submitted 15 working days prior to the time sheet deadline for the affected pay period. Regular full-time, Regular part-time, Adjunct new hires, and Temporary (non-student) personnel actions are submitted via the PAF Request, all PAF’s related to students are prepared and routed by the Departments. Student continuations must be submitted for every semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer) with semester dates and student schedules attached to be approved. Financial aid must be included in the signing of all student PAF’s.
If you have questions regarding the PAF process, please contact the HR department.

TECH TIPS
In this month’s Tech Tips, we explore lesser known tips for the novice to the power Microsoft Word user.
- Select Text Quickly
You already know that double-clicking will select a single word, however, triple-clicking will select an entire paragraph. If you want to select an entire sentence, press the CTRL key and click on a word within the sentence. If you want to select a rectangular block of text, press the ALT key and drag your mouse to select the area.
- Search for Edited Words
Working on a document with multiple pages? Press the SHIFT key and F5 simultaneously to search through the recently edited words in a document. If you’ve opened a previous document, use the Shift+F5 to see what you were working on before you closed the document.
- Change the Case
Select a part of the document and press Shift+F3 to change the case of the selection. This alternates to change the case to uppercase, lowercase, or camel case while you’re typing a document.
