Building and Campus Services

The Building and Campus Services Department is responsible for the cleanliness of College buildings, a paper and cardboard recycling program, event setups, office relocation and classroom setups, and the general outside maintenance of the College campus.

• A custodial services contractor is used by the College to provide after-hours cleaning of College buildings. In addition, the custodial contractor provides daytime custodians to meet the custodial needs during daily operating hours.
• As requests are received for meeting and event setups, the Building and Campus Services Department staff works closely with the requester(s) to ensure all needs are met in an efficient and timely manner. Some of the larger annual event setups include the following: GED Graduation and Commencement.
• As requests are received for the relocation of offices and the setup of classrooms, etc., the Building and Campus Services Department staff works closely with the requester(s) to ensure that the completion of the project is done in an efficient and timely manner.
• An external grounds keeping contractor is used by the College to maintain the turf and landscaped areas of the campus. A tree nursery, planted and maintained by Building and Campus Services staff, is an important resource to the College, and the trees are used in campus beautification projects. Once the trees in the nursery reach a point of maturity, they are transplanted to other areas on the College campus.
