Cheryl is a first-generation graduate from Oklahoma City Community College, obtaining her ADN in 2002. Thereafter, she pursued a career as a medical-surgical nurse with additional experience in home health and long-term care. Cheryl graduated with a BSN degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in 2015 followed by an MSN degree in 2017. She completed her preceptorship in OCCC’s BADNAP program with completion of a Capstone project entitled, “De-Stress for Success. A Project Designed for the Nursing Student with Inclusion of the Immediate Family.” Since 2015, she has worked as an adjunct nursing instructor at OSU-OKC and Oklahoma City Community College while completing her education. Cheryl and her husband (David)have a “blended” family of 7 sons, cherished daughter-in-laws, and a growing number of grandchildren. Her interests include music, dancing, decorating, party planning and fun gatherings with family and friends. She is passionate about nursing and education as echoed in a favorite saying “Changing the world…one student at a time.”
