Lori Farr began her teaching career at the University of Oklahoma where she provided instruction to incoming developmental students in reading, writing, vocabulary development, research, and study skills. She has also taught language arts, social studies, and math to middle school students. Before coming to OCCC, she was employed by Edison Schools, Inc., a private management company that assisted at-risk schools around the country to increase student achievement. She served as a National Curriculum Coordinator for Literacy Development to improve literacy development in grades K-12. During her seven years with Edison Schools, she became increasingly more committed to students in developmental education. She works to transform teaching and learning continually so that students show achievement each year and increase their opportunities in college, work, and life. Her current passion is working with college level students to ensure they also have successful experiences that will lead to achievement of their dreams.
