OCCC Shield How you will be notified
How you will be notified
Oklahoma City Community College's communication approach is based on redundancy, using multiple methods to reach members of the college community with information as quickly and accurately as is possible.
-
Alarm system, campus wide phone system, Internal and External Speaker System
OCCC will issue primary alerts using the college's alarm system, the phones located in classrooms, offices, stairwells and other public locations, and the internal and external speaker system.
-
Text Messaging
An OCCC alert message may also be sent to the mobile devices of OCCC students, faculty and staff who register their mobile numbers to receive OCCC alerts through the Campus Alert Notification system.
-
Media
Regular updates regarding campus closing and other emergency information will be provided to the news media. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to consult local media broadcasts particularly during inclement weather.
-
Web Alerts
OCCC will post alert messages on the college home page and the employee web site. The college might also choose to activate its emergency website, which will serve as a source of information updates.
-
Social Networks
OCCC will post alert messages and updates to the college's official Facebook page, on the college's main Twitter account, and on the college's alert Twitter account.
-
College Voice Mail
OCCC will post a message on the college's main number at 405-682-1611.
-
Email
Depending on the nature and location of an emergency situation, OCCC may send an alert message to all students, faculty and staff at their OCCC email accounts using the Campus Alert Notification System.
