Assessment Services

Accuplacer/Entrance Testing - For entering students who have not taken the SAT or ACT. The Accuplacer is a comprehensive computerized-adaptive testing system that helps place post-secondary students into appropriate college-level or ESL courses and maximizes their chances for success. Delivered in Standard American English, ACCUPLACER guides students of a wide range of proficiency levels into mainstream courses, or ESL programs.These series of tests will determine your skill levels in reading and writing. Based on these tests, advisors will help you to enroll in classes that best meet your needs.

MyMathLab Entrance Testing - The math placement exams are a series of math exams created by the Division of Mathematics at OCCC.

TOEFL Testing - The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand North American English as it is used in college and university settings. This test is used to determine/recommend placement in college-level and/or ESL Courses.

TEAS Testing - The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) test was developed to measure basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. These entry level skills were deemed important for nursing program applicants by a panel of nursing program curriculum experts. The TEAS is a 170-item, four-option, multiple choice assessment. To prepare in an organized and efficient manner, you should know what to expect from the real assessment.

ACT Testing - Oklahoma City Community College is a residual ACT Assessment Test Center and administers the test on a regularly scheduled basis with results normally available the next day.

The ACT assessment is a nationally accepted college admission examination consisting of tests in English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science Reasoning. Consisting of 215 multiple-choice questions, the ACT requires approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete including breaks. There is no penalty for incorrect answers. Scale scores are computed for each of the four tests and for the composite score. The scale scores range from 1 (low) to 36 (high). The seven sub scores are computed in the same way, ranging from 1 (low) to 18 (high).

GED Testing - A seven and a half hour examination measuring high school-level achievement in four subject areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics. GED tests are also available in Spanish.  Students that require special accommodations will need to start the process early and contact www.GED.com

The new GED is on an entirely new scale and has a passing score of 150 on each test module. Therefore, test-takers will need to reach a score of at least 150 on each module and a total score of 600 across the four-module battery in order to receive their GED® test credential.
