Oklahoma City Community College’s (OCCC) Professional Development Institute (PDI), a center of excellence for continuing education and workforce development, will offer Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) training for new federal investigators starting Saturday, June 3, 2017.
The four-day, 32-hour, $875 training meets federal EEO MD-110 requirements and will include EEO law basics and investigative techniques. “This is a great opportunity to be independently employed and have flexibility within your schedule. It’s also a good skill for HR employees to have for internal investigations,†PDI Director John Claybon said.
The training will also include an overview of the EEO process (29 C.F.R. Part 1614), case management process, techniques for planning and conducting interviews, investigative reports and summaries, a report of investigation and the roles and responsibilities of an EEO investigator. Students will receive in-class materials and study relevant statues and cases.
“Often, professionals must travel out of state to obtain this certification. There is no to do this. It is available to you right here in OKC in four days,†says PDI Director John Claybon. The independent contractor’s typical case earns $1,200, a complex case earns up to $2,500.
