Marketing and Public Relations

About Us

The Marketing and Public Relations Department at Oklahoma City Community College directs the communications strategy for the college, manages all marketing and advertising efforts and handles media relations between the college and its internal and external audiences. In addition, it provides creative print and web services to members of the college community and creates radio, television, photography and video for promotional use.

We envision our role as a provider of results-oriented, comprehensive strategic direction and brand-centered, integrated communications support for Oklahoma City Community College. Our efforts will continue to support and enhance the institution as it continues as an indispensable pathway to student success.

Our mission is to build informed support for Oklahoma City Community College by creating and communicating the college's key messages to targeted audiences, while advancing the image of OCCC.

What We Do

Marketing, Advertising and Branding Services

We provide integrated marketing planning and services to the college and individual departments. Through continued analysis of the latest research data, we develop an understanding of the needs, attitudes, and desires of those who directly influence and are influenced by the success of OCCC.

Media and Public Relations

We publicize the college by promoting news and feature stories to the press, providing the media with those who can offer expert opinions, and arranging interviews and information to media representatives for their respective assignments. Our goal is to educate and inform the community all OCCC has to offer.

Our staff researches and writes text for electronic and print publications while striving to maintain accurate, clear and concise messages on behalf of the college and its many departments.

These pieces range from small-scale items, such as invitations and brochures, to comprehensive campaigns. We rigorously edit each piece to ensure that copy meets the highest of standards. We are available to write speeches, talking points and biographies and to assist in presentations.

Creative, Printing, and Photographic Services

We specialize in producing high-quality marketing, promotional, recruitment, fund-raising and informational communications for OCCC. Our print and electronic projects preserve the integrity of the OCCC brand, while speaking to the character of individual departments.

Web and Social Media Services

Our web and social media team manages the OCCC website and all of our official social media channels. We can assist in developing a presence on the OCCC site and various social media channels. In addition, we provide training in the OCCC content management system.

Video Services

We produce a variety of videos each year. Whether a short video promoting a department internally or long-format documentary is needed, we will take you through the entire process from storyboarding to picking the correct channel for distribution of the final product.
