The Student Awards Ceremony scheduled for tonight, Friday, April 28, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Visual and Performing Arts Center Theater will proceed as scheduled. There are currently no plans to cancel classes or events today due to potential severe weather.

Biography

Sharon Vaughan earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. She graduated with special distinction from the University of Oklahoma where she earned her BA in Political Science and Philosophy. She received the Carl Albert Award at O.U. which honors the most outstanding graduate in the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition to her academic career, Dr. Vaughan has worked in Washington D.C., as a writer for a governor and in city government. She taught political theory at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to political theory, Dr. Vaughan has taught many courses in American Government.
