High School Concurrent Enrollment Students: Get Started Here
Are you planning on enrolling in college courses while you are still in high school to earn dual credit? If so, follow these simple steps:
1. Complete the Application for Admission
The Application for Admission is required for all new students. Once you complete and submit your application, you can view possible additional items needed to complete the process.
2. Request an official transcript from your high school
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) require that all concurrent students submit an official transcript before getting admitted. You can bring your transcript (and additional documents) to the Office of Recruitment & Admissions or have your high school send it.
3. Submit official ACT scores
In order to be eligible to enroll in concurrent classes, you must have taken the ACT. Official ACT scores must be submitted before you can be admitted.
4. Speak to your high school counselor to see if you qualify
The OSRHE have strict eligibility requirements for students who wish to enroll in college courses while still in high school. If you meet the minimum requirements, you should speak with your high school counselor to discuss your options for enrolling concurrently.
5. Get approval from your high school and parents
If you have met the OSRHE requirements, and your high school approves you to enroll concurrently, you will need to submit OCCC's Concurrent Enrollment Form. This form must be completed by the high school (including signatures from the principal and counselor) and signed by you and your parent.
Concurrent students must maintain a minimum 2.0 college GPA in order to continue enrollment as a high school student. If a concurrent student is deemed ineligible while in high school, he or she may resume classes upon high school graduation after submitting an official, final high school transcript.
Tuition and Fees
Concurrent students are responsible for all tuition, fees and textbooks for all courses in which they enroll at OCCC. OCCC will waive a maximum of 6 credit hours of tuition per semester for SENIORS only. Seniors may only receive this waiver at one institution of attendance per semester, and therefore, may be billed for the tuition if already receiving the waiver at another institution.
