New Students are required to meet with an Academic Advisor to enroll for their first semester at OCCC. Students may Walk-in or call Academic Advising at 405-682-7535 to set up an appointment. Students are encouraged to plan ahead before meeting with an Academic Advisor.  You can browse our programs prior to meeting with an Advisor to help you decide on an area of interest to major in.  If you have never attended college before, you may need to take a placement test before choosing classes.  This test will need to be completed prior to meeting with an Advisor if it is needed. The Office of Academic Advising does have study material to assist you in preparing for the test.  Please bring the following items when you come to meet with an Advisor:

  • A photo ID (Driver's Liscence, Passport, School ID, ect.)
  • Transcripts from other colleges that you have attended (unofficial documents are acceptable for your initial meeting)
  • Any questions that you may have for the Advisor
  • It is also helpful to have an idea of what days and times would be ideal for you to take class
  • Placement test scores if applicable
